For the eighth year running, Face the Future Foundation’s Associate Board hosted their annual Derby Party at the Fortnightly Chicago. Guests wore fancy wide-brimmed hats and fascinators, colorful jackets and other smart attire to watch the running of the 143rd running of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 6.
The Derby classic – the mint julep – and other Derby themed cocktails were popular choices, along with a delicious buffet of homemade crispy-fried chicken, country ham and cheddar biscuits, fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs, mac and cheese, cookies and more. The photo booth was a crowd favorite.
President of the Associate Board George Dorhmann welcomed guests and invited them to place their bids on silent auction items and take their chance in the raffle. Funds raised benefit Face the Future Foundation which supports the work of The Craniofacial Center at the UIC College of Medicine. The Foundation raises funds and public awareness to support the care and treatment of children born with cleft lip, palate and other craniofacial differences by facilitating access to state-of-the-art medical care and by supporting research and education.
