University of Illinois Craniofacial Center is at the forefront of research into craniofacial differences, helping to pioneer new treatments and perfect the team-based treatments that give kids a normal life. The Center is dedicated to the care and treatment of infants, children, adolescents, and adults with craniofacial conditions. Since its founding in 1949 The Center has fostered the team approach to care and provides multidisciplinary management for craniofacial patients who are treated by medical and dental specialists and allied health professionals working together to provide comprehensive care in a single location. Today, they provide this care for more economically disadvantaged children than any other teaching hospital in Illinois by providing access to the highest quality care regardless of financial circumstance.
The cohesive nature of The Center’s team also helps them cater to the kids and families who come to them for help. The Center’s staff and the individuals they serve form close bonds over the years. The rapport the children form with their doctors alleviates the uncertainty and fear they might feel seeing dozens of doctors at different locations through the years of their treatment. Instead, trips to The Center are like visits with friends, as patients joke and kid with their doctors and their families rest assured that their children are receiving the best care Chicagoland has to offer.
