I have focused much of my philanthropic effort over the last 15 years to break down economic barriers for youth, and thus I appreciate Face the Future Foundation's focus on helping economically disadvantaged children access the critical care they need to live a fulfilling life.
I have toured University of Illinois Craniofacial Center and was most impressed by the committed, caring nature of The Center's doctors and medical professionals, and the incredible results of their work.
Sandy is a member of the New York State and Illinois State Bar Associations and is a retired corporate attorney who practiced with Morrison & Forster LP in New York City and Goodwin Procter LP in Boston. Sandy also performed in-house counsel roles in Chicago for Morningstar and APAC Customer Service.
Sandy holds a BA from Columbia University and a JD from Northwestern University. Sandy graduated from Stuyvesant High School in NYC and is married to her high school sweetheart, Chris McGowan. They have three children, two in college and one in high school.
Sandy is a nationally-ranked paddle tennis player, and she teaches paddle tennis at multiple clubs part-time in the Chicago area. She is also an avid indoor and outdoor tennis player. Sandy is a member of the Saddle & Cycle Club and the Women's Athletic Club in Chicago. Sandy and Chris currently serve as vice-chairs of the Yale Parents Leadership Council, a group of parent volunteers who help fundraise for the University. They also have done fundraising for many years on behalf of Walter Payton College Prep
and The Laboratory Schools at the University of Chicago.
